BibleStep ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our web application at app.biblestep.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account information: email address and display name when you register.
Content you create: sermon notes, personal notes, prayer entries, and reading sessions. This content is private to your account.
Preferences: language and Bible translation settings.
Billing information: if you subscribe to BibleStep Plus, payment is processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status — never your card details.
Usage data: reading session duration and dates, for your personal rhythm calendar and statistics. This data is visible only to you.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the BibleStep service.
To sync your notes, prayers, and reading history across sessions.
To process subscription payments through Stripe.
To send essential account emails (e.g. password reset).
To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymized usage.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase (EU/US infrastructure). Authentication is managed by Supabase Auth. Payment data is handled by Stripe.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure credential storage.

4. Cookies and Tracking

BibleStep uses minimal cookies strictly necessary for authentication (session tokens) and language preference. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

5. Third-Party Services

Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
Stripe — payment processing for BibleStep Plus subscriptions.
Google OAuth (optional) — if you choose to sign in with Google.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

Access and export the data you have created in BibleStep.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Update your email or display name in Settings.

7. Children's Privacy

BibleStep is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of BibleStep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
